22 February 2020 – Kyoto Sangyo University (KSU) students from Japan had a chance to visit 2 iconic tourism spots in Yogyakarta. Eighteen students visited Keraton Yogyakarta (Palace) and Candi Prambanan (temple). They went there at 9 AM from Sanata Dharma University by bus. Total eighteen KSU students accompanied by 4 Indonesian Language and Culture Intensive Course (ILCIC) teachers went there together. The first destination was Keraton Yogyakarta.

There, they could find the history of Mataram Kingdom in Yogyakarta through the relic that is kept by Keraton. They had a chance to enjoy the gamelan performance by the servant of the palace or known by abdi dalem. It is very special because the gamelan that was played by abdi dalem was an old-traditional instrument owned by Keraton. Even though it is old, it still sounded very well. Besides that, they enjoyed the amazing Javanese architecture and ornaments of Keraton Yogyakarta. After that, they went to Tamansari Water Castle. It was the water spring that was used by king of Keraton Yogyakarta to have a bath in the past. They continue to the next destination after got several photos and listened to the history of the place.

Prambanan Temple was the next destination. They arrived there around 2 PM. There, they walked around the temple. They looked for the best place to get the best photos they could. There was one moment where they made videos in group about the places they had visited during their study in Yogyakarta. Some students said that Yogyakarta has a good hospitality for every people who come to Yogyakarta. Some of them said, they would like to come back again to Yogyakarta. After they done with the video, they went back around 4 PM to Lembaga Bahasa Universitas Sanata Dharma. We hope that you all will go back again to Indonesia.
